Prime Minister Narendra modi’s new campaign ‘Start Up India‘ to encourage enterperneurs across the country is being touted as a boost to the startup culture by entrepreneurial aspirants. The entrepreneurs, who were earlier disappointed over the denial of special status for Andhra Pradesh, see the new campaign as an opportunity.
Mr Modi, in his I-Day speech, announced the new campaign ‘Start Up’ India. Stand Up India‘ with an aim to help startups with financial support and incentives.
Youngsters in the state, particularly coastal Andhra from where most of the entrepreneurs belong. are looking for better opportunities to launch their start-ups. As bifurcation hail given rise to chances of special status being accorded to the state. which in turn would have brought in special incentives and exemptions, a new crop of entrepreneurs have come in the state.
However, with Central government almost confirming that there would he no special status for the state. entrepreneurs were a disappointed lot. At this juncture, they see the PM’s assurance as a boost to their morale.
“It ls definitely a boost to the entrepreneurs as the PM has realised the need for start-ups in the country. Though there are few Central government schemes to help emrepreneurs. the PM endorsing the start-up culture gives more support to the enterpreneurs who are struggling to make it big. Not just giving boost but also doubts of many parents who have been hesitant in supporting their children wishing to turn entrepreneurs would be cleared now. The PM also explained that start-ups need two to three years to see success,” said entrepreneur M. Siddharth member of APCCl’s Nexgen and also founder of Start AP.
Another entrepreneur. Mr Prasanth K.sald focus on start-ups in India is the need of hour. “If we consider most of the his companies in world like Google. Facebook. Harley Davidson and others, they all were once start-ups and operated out of small rooms. However, there is no such practice in India. he added.
